About the property
Perched on the top of a hill and flanked by the mighty Elliðatindar mountain range in Snæfellsnes Peninsula lies the Dalur estate. The estate is a vast 1,000 hectares of rolling hills, lakes, rivers, lava fields, hot springs and fertile farmland. Dating back to the turn of the century, every part of the original farmhouse and outbuildings have been exquisitely renovated for exclusive use.
The main farmhouse stands at the center of this movie-set-like property with its original pumice ´lava´ stone walls wrapped with jet black corrugated iron and floor to ceiling lounge windows. A Nordic sauna, fully equipped kitchen, chef station, cold plunge and geothermal outdoor pool are just some of the delights this villa has to offer. Close to the main farmhouse are two stand alone suites.
The Stable Suite is an impressive architectural renovation with lava basalt walls, vaulted ceilings, a raised mezzanine bedroom, lounge area and private terrace.
The Ram Suite is a beautiful barn conversion with vaulted ceilings, stunning lava wall, free standing roll top bath, living area and kitchenette.
Last but not least is the 200 sqm Games Room with a gym, bar, pool and table tennis table, sonos speakers, lounge, sheltered decking and BBQ - fun for all the family, a group of friends, a party or other event, whatever the weather.
The Games Room barn is also available for weddings, parties, business retreats and events. Contact us for details.
We do our bit: every Dalur guest receives a reusable water bottle and we encourage you to fill it up throughout your stay from the tap or even directly from the crystal clear glacial rivers nearby each villa.
