Sustainable Luxury
Vatn ´Water´
Iceland is known worldwide for its clean pure water and is cherished by the locals. Geothermal heat and freshwater is what has helped Icelanders survive and thrive since viking times. All of our properties are situated close to water and this provides us with fresh drinking water straight from the tap and all the villas are heated using geothermal energy.
Náttúra ´Nature´
Respecting nature was at the forefront of our mind when constructing the villas and we worked carefully with local experts to ensure we preserved the habitats of local wildlife. At some of our villas you will find very pure breeds of Icelandic sheep, horses, arctic foxes and a wide variety of birds. For keen anglers we have wild Atlantic salmon in a river that babbles through two of our properties.
Efni ´Materials´
In a nod to tradition the villas all have a hardwood and lava stone element and are timeless in design. The floor in the 200sqm games room at the Luxury Resort was actually made from reclaimed wood left over from the construction.
Endurvinnsla ´Recycle´
Iceland was the first country to adopt a nation-wide system of recycling fees for all disposable drink containers. We work with local suppliers to make as little footprint as possible.
